Thank you. I posted it, because so much has happened in the past six years. Instead of getting into today’s political battles, I wanted to talk about what I was feeling then. I wrote the letter on 9/12/2001, and it was fairly detailed, so I thought, why write about history? Why not use a primary source from the time?

I think these projects are a good idea. What historians do with them in the future is another matter. I suppose these archives could also become a useful teaching resource in schools. Students will be able to do primary-source based history projects. Students might also gain insight into how sources are collected.

What do you think about such projects as http://911digitalarchive.org/? Do you think this is a new trend for building the image of historical events? Not only media, but collective work with memory makes a vision of the past.
