Times Online Archvies

The Dreyfus Affair editorial from which I quoted yesterday is available in the Times online archives. The signup process is a bit painful, because first they take personal information, then they confirm your request via email, and then they demand your address and phone number. Still, the reward is access to searchable digital archives dating back to 1785.

Update: September 15, 2008. This service was apparently only free to get it running. After the 18th it will be paid. Cost: day pass: £4.95, monthly membership: £14.95, annual membership: £74.95. You have to actually sign up for one of these services, so don’t worry about being charged if you already signed up for the free service.
